" I enjoy sports (particularly New England sports teams), politics, and have just begun running short distances (I have run a few 5Ks) in an effort to stave off the aging process.  I have been on hiatus from Boards and organizations for about 7 years, but now that my children are older, I am looking to get active again in the near future.  I don’t enjoy cooking, knitting or crossword puzzles, nor do I follow Game of Thrones”.

" I  am an avid outdoorsman (I particularly enjoy whitewater rafting, hiking and camping) and have been involved in Scouting and youth programs for years.  Otherwise you can find me tending my chickens and pigs or whipping up some culinary masterpiece for anyone who will try it." 

RUSSELL A. FOWLER

" I  enjoy spending time with my adult children and love to travel.  I have honed my skills as an aspiring grandfather and am a long-suffering, but devoted Cleveland sports fan."

J. DAVID GRIFFIN

Born in Waynesboro, Virginia; admitted to bar 1986, South Carolina; 1988, Virginia; District of Columbia, 2005. Education: University of Virginia (B.A. 1983); Vermont Law School, (J.D. 1986). Debevoise Moot Court Competition winner. Member Virginia, South Carolina and D.C. Bars, Winchester-Frederick County Bar Association, Local Government Attorney’s Association, Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Master of the Bench in the Worker’s Compensation American  Inn of Court, Defense Research Institute, U.S. Army JAG Corps 1987-1990.

 I am an avid backpacker and life member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. I enjoy canoeing, riding my Harley Davidson and the outdoors. I love travel, trains, and adrenaline rushes.  I am an apiarist and proud father of my physicist son and college-bound daughters.  I cannot yet say whether raising bees or children is the more challenging task.  My wife of 30 years, Kathleen Griffin, Esq., is still the love of my life and my best friend. I have been a Scouting volunteer continuously since 1979 in many capacities and continue to serve the Shenandoah Area Council BSA Board, as well as serve on the Congregation Council of Bethel Lutheran Church here in Winchester”. 

JOHN D. HASSELBERGER

Born in Washington DC; admitted to bar 2013, Virginia.  Education:  University of Arizona (B.A. 2010); Southern Methodist University (J.D. 2013).  Member Virginia State Bar Association and Winchester-Frederick County Bar Association.

"While originally from Northern Virginia, I have endeavored to make Winchester my home and to assist the residents of the Shenandoah Valley with their legal matters. I believe that attorneys should not only function as legal counsel, but also as counselors to their clients.  In my spare time, I enjoy running and cheering on the Arizona Wildcats and SMU Mustangs."
